Dear Wayside Supporters,
I am thrilled to write you with exciting news from Wayside and ask for your support.
Because of your past donations, Wayside has been able to hire our second full time program staff! I am your new Richmond Field Coordinator!
My new position at Wayside will allow me to have more presence in local communities, identify and train community leaders and work on campaigns around deportation, education and language justice. I will be able collaborate with local activists to facilitate dialogue between communities of color that will contribute to the understanding of differences and similarities that will contribute to? building a strong movement of people of color in the city.
Now more than ever we need to fund grassroots organizing. Places like Richmond are historically underrepresented by funding for community organizing or popular education.
Wayside is a space that allows individuals to come together, care for each other and fight for justice. Wayside has allowed me to connect with people from different cultures, experiences, lifestyles and struggles. It has allowed me to have respectful, safe, deep and genuine dialogues that must happen to be able to create a movement where we are not divided, a movement were we support each other and don’t feel alone in the struggle.
Your donations have gone a long way in rooting Wayside as an important hub for social justice work. This important organizing position, and everything Wayside
does, depends on your continued support! Wayside took a big risk and stretch to hire me as a full time organizer, and now we need you to stretch with us.
Can you give $100, $50, or $25 this fall in support of the important movement building work of Wayside?
Love & Lucha,
