Give to Grow Wayside This Spring

You might have heard what an exciting year this will be for Wayside. We've been growing steadily these last four years, and now a lot of our hard work together is paying off. Thanks to you and your donations, it is now possible to pull the trigger on some big plans! Things you can look forward to include:

Hiring new staff

Thanks to a multi-year commitment from a major donor, Wayside's capacity is about to increase substantially. This spring we'll hire a part-time maintenance person and groundskeeper freeing more current staff hours for program work and enabling us to take on some much needed improvement projects. By year's end we plan to add another program staff position, which will also include development work.

Improvements on site

We're finally able to expand Wayside's single-family septic system into a bigger, more ecologically sustainable system that can accommodate the big numbers of folks we're getting accustomed to hosting! Construction should begin by early 2014.

Over the next few years we'll be building a beautiful year-round yurt to serve as a large meeting room. We will also build composting toilets, outdoor showers, and cabins in the woods for housing and retreats.

Doubling our summer internship program

Our Richmond-based internship program last summer was such a success that we?ve expanded the program to Harrisonburg this year and doubled the number of participants. You?ll meet them at the Wayside Commons (July 13th!) or see them in action this spring in Richmond or Harrisonburg.

None of this is possible without your support as we rely entirely on individual donations.? Consider a spring gift of $250 $100, $50, or $25 to continue to make Wayside possible. Even better, sustain Wayside by becoming a monthly donor. Our movement building and organizing skills programs are going strong. The Interpreting for Social Justice workshop continues to train interpreters across the region, and regional multi-lingual organizing is benefitting from the additonal equipment we were able to purchase in 2012.

Your support has made all of this possible.? With your donation, we can continue to grow and struggle for justice together.? Every gift helps. Donate here.
